Ms. Nayanika Bora
Nayanika is in the verge of completing her final semester of Bachelor of Engineering from the Vellore Institute of technology VIT), Vellore, India. As part of the Semester Abroad Program (SAP) of VIT, and as a visiting scholar at the Smart Villages Lab (SVL), Nayanika has undertaken her final semester research project at the University of Melbourne, Australia. With the theme of her research project as ‘Sustainable Construction and Housing: A Framework for the state of Assam’, Nayanika proposes a strategic and conceptual framework toward ‘Sustainable Construction’ by addressing the limitations of current unsustainable construction practices and by focusing on the roles and responsibilities of the diverse stakeholders of ‘Sustainable Construction’ in the global as well as the local context for the City of Guwahati, Assam, India.
She is joining the Master of Science in Engineering programme [Construction Engineering and Management] in September 2018, at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor soon after completion of her undergraduate degree. She is also hoping to continue working, on Sustainable Construction in future.
