Dr. Alessandro Liuti

Alessandro is an architectural engineer, who has recently completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne (Faculty of Architecture Building and Planning). In both his academic and professional career, he is engaging with the emerging digital design technologies, performative and structural design, and advanced construction methods (see the Airshell gridshell project and the 2017 Rainbow Serpent main stage installation).

Alessandro is dealing with the digital modelling and performative analysis of potential housing typologies for the region of Assam. This study aims to explore ways to blend local materials and construction techniques with more advanced solutions, while assessing the environmental impact and resiliency of the different solutions.
