Dr Hemanta Doloi

Dr Hemanta Doloi is currently an Associate Professor specialising in Project and Construction Management. Dr Doloi has consistently been publishing his research in journals of highest repute across three key areas: Project management, Infrastructure planning and policy and Construction economics and management. His expertise is highly sought-after in both academia and corporate world.

Based on a major international research grant of over AU$1.9 million, Dr Doloi has established a new research facility, Smart Villages Lab (SVL) focusing on rural construction and development. With a partnership between the State Government of Assam and the University of Melbourne, the three year project is developing significant new capacity for assisting the people of Assam to create “smart villages”, which mobilise good governance, construction management and technology to improve rural living environments.

In 2012, Dr Doloi’s outstanding contribution into research and teaching has been recognised by honouring him the nationally competitive Infinite Value Award in Research and Teaching administered by the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS).
